Waiting Room
Eden Bannet
28 Feb — 2 May, 2015
“Waiting Room,” Eden Bannet’s new solo exhibition at the Jerusalem Artists’ House, presents works on paper and sculptural gestures in space. The exhibition investigates tangible forms and abstract concepts associated with waiting, through the prism of the artist’s ongoing research project in recent years: roaming urban spaces and industrial zones, collecting raw materials and scraps, capturing on camera transitory compositions, and assembling hybrid constellations through experimentation at the studio.
Alongside two-dimensional works outlining liminal states of consciousness, the exhibition space also accommodates sculptural structures that point towards the poses of the body in waiting – rest, sitting, delay, anticipation, laxity, alertness, absorption, balance, tension, filtering, draining. Together they amount to nuanced transformations between images and things, urban life and abstract forces, useful items and objects of contemplation.
