The 6th exhibition in the Nidbach series: Cordis Ectopia
Amir Pollak
Curator: Poliakine Sharon
15 Mar — 26 April, 2008
“Cordis Ectopia”- one of the works which this exhibition is named after, deals with an impossible splitting. This term refers to a rare cordial defect in which the heart groves outside the body. How far should Amir go to see himself? Would a rabbits’ body, the voices of chainease opera singers, flower patterns printed on underwear be enough? And what about the temptation to draw back in order not to see? And how dangerous is it to be to close? Is there really any possibility for this kind of splitting? This dilemma rises in his works with great intensity, as well as the aura of consolidation, and still remains as the world of the image draws further away.
