Fourth Exhibition in the 16th Nidbach series
Dudu wanders through a world containing a secret. This world which is divided into landscape photography representing primal forces and marked heroes and heroines is spread out to the viewer like Tarot cards.
There is much beauty and sensitivity in the screening ability of the different gazing methods in which Dudu chooses to position his ideal and visual world-view. Through it he interprets the emotional world that mediates between man and woman in and part of the cosmic balance of power. This mapping, sensitive and implied, yet beautiful and powerful, contains suppressed sadness and a conscious choice to stay captive with no control facing a more essential force that steers the secret of life, the secret of magic, the enigma of love.
In all of the photographs the power is blocked, the sound is blocked, the secret is blocked… Photographs in a blocked state. An emotional reality on a rim. The poetics of reduction. A moment before… before what? What will appear in the next moment?… What is sealed from our view due to the photographic blocking process? How to read these cards, understand the present and predict the next step… Or on the other hand, how to teach ourselves to give in to the forces that are applied onto us…
