Rashida 2004 – Installation

Rashisha 2004 works within its own space. Shoshan enforces a new architectural order within the space that he utilizes – he cuts the area lengthwise, “stretches” it and places the objects beyond the lead poles that function as bars or rods – a separation device that requires the observer to adopt a unique perspective on the artist’s ornamental and architectural images. This installation places the observer in the position of “being watched” – bringing into question the routine, common methods of observing and, consequently, suggesting new outlooks and interpretations of symbols and metaphors.
