The Second Exhibition In the Nidbach 13 Series
In contrast to the sacred anigmativity of modern art, Jonathan’s exhibited sketches reflect the artist’s intimate work process leading to the creation of the main “power channels” – the complete painting.
“In his alchemical lab of Chaos Jonathan merges between Greco-Roman and Germanic Myths and his own private mythologies. In the attempt to reconstruct his own identity and find a standing point after the melting of the modernist formula, he seeks for biographical footprints in literary narratives that in turn are used for the reconstruction of his own private artistic identity. The imagery layout of his paintings converges into the main themes of his work – Masculinity (Desire and Death) Power, Aesthetics, Morality and Culture. Jonathan’s sketch field is a sub torrential surge system, leading the materials of his artwork. The Cleanness and Dirt the Witches and the Fairies are all gathered together in a unified mixture”
