Jerusalem’s urban landscape is the consequence of an accelerated and violent process, through which our society creates a landscape built of fragments: of the past, of what has been built on the past, and of the resulting meeting between them. It is not the result of long-term processes or the product of the interaction among nature’s forces. The landscape is no longer a continuous and whole space; it is erected by the demolition of its own previous elements. Folded into it lie traces of destruction, the act of building and the impossible boundary between them. The work includes sound elements, construction in the spaces and photographs. Together they become a new interpretation of Jerusalem’s urban landscape. It becomes a new space to be explored, built on three media, distorting the known space by dismantling and reconstructing the sound, architectural and photographic materials.
