Onomatopoeia- 4th exhibition in the 20th Nidbach series for emerging artists

It is apparent that Rami Tareef, born and raised in Gullies, integrates his professional career (rooted in the Bezalel industrial design approach) with the almost mysterious presence of cultural and formal layers replicated from his childhood landscape. Sparks are created by the friction between Tareef’s intellectual approach and his unique cultural narratives. He researches and confronts traditional materials, thus mapping their roots and transforming them into old/new substances. The outcome contains shadows of the narratives, able to be decoded only by an eye skilled in the history of local
crafts, such as exist in the material culture characteristic of our geographical-historico-cultural space. Rami must see that his passion, understanding, and experience in craft serve as an Archimedean fulcrum and not as a Sisyphean boulder.
