Rika Shalev
Landscapes and Other Joys 1951-2003
21 Jun — 20 July, 2003
Rika Shalev, born and raised on Kibbutz Kinneret and daughter of kibbutz founders, spent her childhood along the shores of lake Kinneret. As a young girl she enjoyed hours upon hours painting the eucalyptus trees reflecting in the waters of the Kinneret. This is the motif that has inspired her from childhood until today. Her landscape paintings and eucalyptus trees have undergone numerous changes over the years – from light sketches involving one simple line to miniatures characterized by their abundance of color and layer upon layer of bold shades.
