Heads in Watercolors

In the capable hands of Marek Yanai, we are exposed to portraits of large dimensions (56cm x 76 cm), and to studies of varied expressions.
With his uncanny observation and with help of layers of airy and expressive colors, Marek captures the facial contours of his subjects. But most of all, the observer realizes that these portraits reveal the inner self of the individuals as they emerge from Marek’s creations. They unveil the personalities of his subjects as well as the story of their lives, each portrait reflects a unique image, a singular spirit.
The exhibition is a continuation of Marek’s previous showing at the Artists’ House in 1997. The festive opening will take place simultaneously in the Artists House and Mayanot Gallery in Jerusalem on October 21, 2004
