1 st. exhibition in the 14th. Nidbach series
Brodsky Ilan
Curator: Yaakov Israel
21 Apr — 10 June, 2007
The works by Ilan Brodsky deal with realities, dual by nature, ranging from the concrete and the other imaginary and fantastic. Paradoxically, in the range between these realities, which are all his creation, Brodsky marks his territory, the borders of his physical and metaphysical existence. He portrays these dual realities by using “pin hole photography” or “Holga” camera; both preventing a realistic view on the world, creating a dreamy blurred reality. Thus he moves through the parallel universes in his private existence as though being one of the “Amber” princes in Roger Zilazany’s fantasy books. At some point creating the question what is this reality we are viewing. Yaakov Israel, curator.
