The Osnat Mozes Prize Committee for the year 2009 has chosen to grant the young artist painting Prize to Netally Schlosser<\/p>\n
Of the Prize Committee\u2019s reasons:
\nThe strength in Netally Schlosser\u2019s painting lies in its immediate and straightforward presence. Her works do not depict an event that occurred in a different place or time, but each work within itself is a happening in the here and now. She expresses physical and emotional material on the surface of the painting, staring right at the surprised viewer.<\/p>\n
With a sharp and bold painting wisdom, Schlosser tackles the different and distinguished languages of painting, distorting them according to her personal needs and forcing on them a common expressional space.<\/p>\n
Like an alchemist, she casts upon her painting cauldron the tradition of the figurative medieval symbolism, the ruthless German Expressionism\u2019s social criticism, and the concrete materialistic awareness of Modern painting. These aspects are blended into eternal worldly pictures which draw the viewers into her world \u2013 straight into the heart of the darkness of the human soul.<\/p>\n
