At the Jerusalem Artists\u2019 House is currently taking place a joint exhibition by Yosl Bergner and Yosef Schlein. The present cooperation between these two creators is not fortuitous. It was born in the course of many years of friendship, during which Bergner followed closely the development of his friend and colleague\u2019s work, maintained a dialogue with him and encouraged him to carry on in his unique way.
\nBergner\u2019s contribution to the exhibition is the paintings called \u201cAngry Objects\u201d, new drawings in charcoal, on canvas. Bergner chooses from his well-known reservoir of images \u2013 graters, birds and household utensils, which he now calls \u201cangry\u201d, moving towards each other and about to collide.
\nYosef Schlein, and Entomologist, started sculpting in his youth, having exhibited in a number of one-man exhibitions. Schlein creates quasi-realistic sculptures, in wood, bronze and shredded material \u2013 broken glass and polyester.
\nHis sculptures of animals and birds feature abundant vitality and power, creating a constant impression that they are about to fly, to take off, to leap.
