The artist moves her hand at almost the same speed as the movement of her eye. Out of an almost obsessive urge the artist returns again and again to the subject of drawing from observation \u2013 the artist\u2019s \u201cscale practice.\u201d This obsession carries with it a great truth. There always emerges from within her works a close connection to, almost a love of, the model. This conflicts with the need of the artist to maintain a distance, which will allow a dialogue of \u201cobjectivity\u201d \u2013 to view the model in terms of composition and proportion. Maureen emerges from within this struggle as a sharp critic, with an ironic eye mixed with fine humor.
