Consistently oversized and seductively portrayed, her paintings direct fierce attention to that from which most people may avert their eyes.<br \/>\nThe power of her paintings is attained by the contrast between the enlarged scale of her subject matter and the manner in which she \u201cmicroscopically\u201d probes it.<br \/>\nFaktor focuses on a number of subjects representing the cycle of life. These are articulated either directly or metaphorically, while alluding to the history of European art. Paintings of enlarged withering roses, hands, women\u2019s bodies, and self-portraits which are intimately connected to the materials that wrap, envelop, and engulf them.
