Some are staged, fabricated and photographed in a home setting while others are resulted by observation and a process of documenting the outside world. All of them, whether created indoors or outdoors, are based on the perception of the photographic image as a form of media which contains multilayered cultural codes. Friedlander\u2019s images evoke unusual reading and interpretation of known cultural symbols, such as the model of the Zionist watchtower \u2013 \u201cWall and Tower\u201d that had being installed on the artist\u2019s bed.
