It aims to increase the awareness of this unique architectural discipline, to encourage student\u2019s to deepen their understanding of it and to specialize in it, qualifying them as future architects in this field; to encourage originality and creativity in planning and designing school buildings and changing their appearance in the local landscape, while placing an emphasis on creative solutions for required functions. In addition, this year a special emphasis was placed on the integration of school buildings in the community, as well as on the development of unique learning environments and on planning schools in a manner that will aid in the reduction of violence and vandalism.<br \/>\nPrizes were awarded to 12 projects in three categories: a basic project, for the planning of a defined elementary school within a physical space; a complex-combined project, for the planning of an elaborate cultural-educational system within an urban environment; and a buildings and environment design project, for the reassignment and reorganization of existing buildings, while adapting them to modern learning and teaching methods.
