Unfolding a reality of immigration and uprooting, exile and memory, beauty and yearning, a silenced past and a sizzling violence, the works construct a space of significations and mappings, which are revealed in their instability and frailty.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Through textile as a material, textile-minded thought, or images originating in the tradition of textile, the artists confront the territories which structure their lives and their national-political, gender, ethnic, and cultural identities. For some of them, the text\u2014its writing, reading, visual presence\u2014is a part of the territorial demarcation and the textilic act at the same time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The current show joins a long series of exhibitions, past and present, centered on the local territory and space.
