I searched for the eternal beauty of the city in its nature, in the wrinkled lines of character rather than in its historical sites. I focused on its slopes, its tangled web, its marks of time and climate that are concealed within the city. I concentrated on the light . . .<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In the beginning of the intifada and the accompanying terrorist attacks, I felt threatened even while I was looking out upon a spectacular Jerusalem landscape.
